An article I wrote five years ago today strikes me as especially relevant now. I asked, “who’s in charge?”, and it made the point that after a certain amount of time regretting the situation in which you find yourself, there comes a point where you have to acknowledge that, at the end of the day, you (teacher, subject leader, head of department) are the one in charge.
