Amazon has launched Amazon Study. It comprises free resources in maths and science for different age groups. The resources are from established publishers, such as the Open University. Assuming you have an Amazon account, you can browse the resources, buy one for nothing, and then either download it (as a pdf) or save it online in ‘your library’.
There’s a programming challenge too, in which students program an Amazon robot in a Scratch-like environment. This is all obviously a form of advertising, and I worry about large companies (or governments) making things available for free possibly at the expense of smaller companies and individual teachers. However, I also live in the real world, and I don’t think school budgets are going to be massively increased any time soon. Hence I think that Amazon Study is worth exploring. Hopefully other subjects will be added too over time.
