Bett2020: Python in Pieces
One of the challenges students face in moving from primary school to secondary comes in the form of learning a programming language. In many primary schools, the language of choice is Scratch, which is very visual. For secondaries, though, the preference is for Python, which is textual.
What 2Simple has done in this application is create a visual interface for Python. It means that students can create a program using blocks, as in Scratch, and see what code is generated as a result. That code can be tweaked directly, and the results viewed immediately.
A brilliant transitional tool. More here.
