This is a blast from the past. But kids are kids. I wonder how many there are now who still come out with exactly the same question, just substituting a different word at the end!

A 13 year old in one of my classes who looked utterly incredulous when I mentioned how nice it was to be able to record TV programmes while you were out and watch them when you came home, or at the weekend.

"Wait!", she said. "Wasn't there always video recorders?"
