The illustration for this article is a Wordle of the Ofsted report I wrote about in the article Evidence-Based Teaching: What's Striking Or New About It? . In case you have neither the time nor the inclination to read it, here are the main points:

First, the Chief Inspector of Ofsted, the schools inspection outfit in England and Wales, is:

“struck been struck by how enthusiastically teachers, lecturers and social workers are discussing and debating how to improve their practice on the back of evidence-based research, including Ofsted reports and surveys.”

Secondly, I reflected on the fact that teachers have always, as far as I know, used evidence and research to inform their teaching practice.

Going back to the illustration above, note that the word "evidence" doesn't seem to be in evidence. The word "schools" is bigger than "children", and the word "education" is quite small.

Just sayin'.
