The folks at Westminster Forum are running a very timely conference on 11 March 2021, about the future of edtech. (Many thanks to Tony Parkin, who pointed out that originally I’d put the year as 2020. I must have been thinking of those halcyon pre-lockdown days.) The full title is:

The future for EdTech in England - standards, quality and accessibility, the experience of lockdown, and next steps for the EdTech Strategy

and the topics covered include:

• The EdTech sector today - and prospects for the future

• EdTech and COVID-19 - educational attainment, engagement with students and their households, best practice and lessons learned so far, and looking ahead to the role of remote learning post-pandemic

• accessibility

The online version of the Westminster Forum conference is very good: very professional, and technically robust. Of course, the experience is not the same: nothing beats the cut and thrust of a “real” conference where you try to sound authoritative and erudite while balancing a cup of tea (on a saucer) and a plate of biscuits during the networking breaks, but it’s a lot better than most.

Speakers include some well-known names as well as one or two others I haven’t come across. I think it should be a vibrant morning, and well-worth attending if only for the full transcript you’ll be able to refer to afterwards.
