A perfect example of why you should keep copies of your articles...
… and have your own website.
I like having something exciting to read, so I thought I’d check out an article on ed tech I wrote for another website. This is the message that greeted me:
What that means, in layperson’s terms, is:
“Your article is not available at the moment. Ain’t that a shame?”
Fortunately, I have a copy of the article, so all is not lost. I will still be able to republish it on my website (I was sensible enough to have an agreement to that effect put in place right at the start). I’ve learnt from experience that one should always have a copy of work submitted to other outlets.
It’s also why I think all writers should have a website of their own, so they have somewhere to publish their own work whatever else is happening.
