Linked-in
I’ve been encouraging subscribers to my newsletter, Computers in Classrooms, to join me on Linked-in, so I was quite amused with this cartoon in the Daily Telegraph today:
There is a serious side to it though: as more and more “stuff” is done online (according to a conference I attended yesterday, 78% of Brits are online, and that's a lower percentage than elsewhere), more and more traditional jobs will disappear or need to change. In an age when everyone can do it for themselves, all service providers have to raise their game. And now that we have the possibility of setting up Free schools in Britain, perhaps that is starting to apply to education too.
I think used well, this cartoon could make a great starting point for a discussion with students about the impact of technology in society.
